Lisa and I were greatly interested in this new series. I love Viola Davis, the main star of the show. But as it went on, I personally understand why the ratings dropped. After all, Lisa lost interest mid-season.
The show had tons of clues hinting at new suspects every week. But what lost Lisa earlier than myself was the constant flash-forwards sequences. Each flash-forwards has a "rewind" sequence then a playback. Most of the time, the same flashback sequences were used repeatedly, with a new line or two added as it gets on with the story. To me, it got old quick. Watching the same scenes at least twice in every episode? Yes they add more as they go, but it wasn't enough to hold my interest. I found myself fast forwarding the scenes just to get to the new stuff.
The last episode made up for a lot, but another season of this style of story-telling is not for me at all.

Lisa says: I am not big on shows that flash back repeatedly to the past and yet only give you the same information. Kind of like looking at a puzzle with pieces mixed up. I was really excited about the show based on the previews. The cast is awesome and the character development intriguing. However, I had started to lose interest after the 3rd or 4th show.I continued to watch it because as that point I wanted to know who, what, where, and why.But even that was not enough to hold my interest by the 6th or 7th episode. To bad too as Norm and I both enjoy watching PVRed tv during the evening.
