I want to wish every one a HAPPY NEW YEAR . . . I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable evening. I hope the new year brings peace and harmony and love and happiness. May your prayers be answered and may you maintain or gain health and wealth. Take a moment to remember those loved ones that have passed on. May you be surrounded by love and positive energy and may your spirits soar and be content.
There have been many changes over the last year. I have fallen in love and I have moved. My life has done a complete 360 from the year before. My mother consumed a large part of my life in 2013. Sadly she passed away Nov 16 2013. My life was work, grand kids, mother, eat, sleep, and do it all over again.
When my mother passed on there was suddenly a huge void in my life.I had all of this spare time to do nothing but grieve. I started filling this time by reconnecting with friends.
This year has been full of life and laughter and fun. There has been some sadness and with any new relationship learning curves. We have had celebrations and get together and quiet time to grow. Some weeks our work schedules have not matched up and need to make an effort to spend quality time together. Sometimes one or the other of us need to step up and take on more responsibility (cooking or shopping or cleaning) because of the other's schedule. Those are the things that can break a relationship and those are the things that can strengthen a relationship. We both have a strong sense of commitment. We both believe that a relationship goes south when 1 person stops caring and stops trying. We both know that the root of any healthy strong relationship is open and honest communication. Falling in love is a magical experience.Staying in love takes time and energy and effort. The reward of that effort is a lifetime of sharing and caring with someone who becomes your best friend. Being committed to each other and being committed to making it work no matter what is what creates a life long relationship. Knowing that someone has your back no matter what . . . knowing you come first before all others . . . knowing someone is there to share in the laughter and wipe away the tears. I know I have faults. I know Norm has faults. When I look at Norm I do not see his fault as I am looking at him from a point of love and that rose tinted vision blurs the faults.
A friend once said "How can you sleep in the same room with Norm? I've never heard anyone snore as loud as Norm". I said I want to be with Norm and I miss him dearly when we were not together (this was before I moved in with him). Norm just laughed and said it must be love. (Apparently snoring is a fault.)
"Love is not about finding the right person, but creating a right relationship. It's not about how much love you have in the beginning but how much love you build till the end."

"Love is a noble act of self-giving, offering trust, faith, and loyalty. The more you love, the more you lose a part of yourself, yet you don't become less of who you are; you end up being complete with your loved ones."
